Experienced trekkers advise those who have been ensnared by the lure of the high mountains to drive to Tehri and then up to Utarakashi.This is the start of an interesting trek to the Dodi Tal Lake set over 3,000 meters high in Himalayan woods of Oak, Pine, Deodar and Rhododendron. Its a fairly easy hike from Utarkashi to Kalyani. From Kalyani to Agoda is a steady, though not very steep, climb on the mule trail. The most challenging part of this trek is the steep section from Agoda to the lake, through dense forest. Dodi Tal lake in Garhwal Himalayas - mysterious, alluring, and simply beautiful ! It is at an elevation of 3024 meters above mean sea level, north of Uttarakashi. Crystal clear
waters are surrounded by dense Oak Woods, Pine, Deodar and Rhododendrons. The lake is full of fishes and is known for some of the rare species like the Himalayan Golden Trout The trek from Dodital to Yamnotri takes you through high altitude grasslands and dense virgin forests. The scenery en-route is really astounding ! The trek for Dodi Tal commences from Uttarkashi or Kalyani, which can be approached by motor. Kalyani to Agoda is a gradual climb through woods, fields and villages along a mule track. The trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal is steep and through thick forests.

ITINERARY:-( KEDARNATH-VASUKI TAL TREK )

DAY 01 : ARRIVE DELHI : Upon arrival in International airport in Delhi ,you are met and transferred to your pre-booked hotel.Overnight at Hotel. DAY 02: DELHI - RISHIKESH (310 MTS/965 FT) 214 KMS 5-6 HRS DRIVE. After an early breakfast drive to Rishikesh via Haridwar enroute you can visit Har- Ki -Pauri and witness the famous Arti of holy Ganges. Upon arrival at Rishikesh.check into your pre-booked hotel. Overnight at Hotel. DAY 03: RISHIKESH - SANGAMCHATTI -AGODA ((2250 MTS/7380 FT) (170 KM + 4 KMS TREK) After an early breakfast,drive towards Sangamchatti, It passes through the picturesque Garhwal mountains alongside holy Ganges. Later trek up to Agoda.Overnight at Tents. DAY 04 : KALYANI - DODITAL (3307 10847 FT) (17 KMS/ 5-6 HRS) Today we trek towards Dodital. It passes through beautiful landscape of thick forest and steep cliffs brings you the mysterious Dodital. Overnight at tents. DAY 05: DODITAL The word “Tal” in the Himalayas means lake,and Dodital is a Himalayan lake at a height of 3,024 meters.From Uttarkashi it is a 4 km drive on the Uttarkashi-Gangotri-Highway and then you must take the left fork at Gangori(not to be confused with Gangotri)Day free to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Lake and surrounding dense forest.The scenic beauty of Dodital can compel any nature lover to camp here for days together, the lake, the surrounding pine forest, the towering Darwa Bugyal on one side and the valley on the other is serene and enticing. The parikrama around the lake is of 1.5 kms. A few streams coming from Darwa Bugyal feed the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp. DAY 06: DODITAL - AGODA (2250 MTS/7380 FT) (17 KMS/4-5 HRS) After breakfast we trek down upto Agoda. It is 17 kms.Overnight at Camps at Agoda. DAY 07: AGODA - RISHIKESH (4 KMS TREK + 140 KMS DRIVE) After an early breakfast, trek down to Sangamchatti for about 04 kms. Later drive down to Rishikesh. Upon arrival in Rishikesh, check into your pre-booked hotel. Evening free at leisure. Overnight at hotel. DAY 08: RISHIKESH - DELHI (235 KM/6-7 HRS) Today after an early breakfast short city tour including Laxman Jhoola,Ram Jhoola,Tapovan etc. Later drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi transfer to the international airport to board flight for your onwards journey.
